Low tide

bineckThis morning it looked like rain, some darker sky around, I thought a short bike ride so I could get home quickly if needed would be a good idea. Just along the neck to Mosquito Beach – which is not THE beach but a part of the Great Salt Pond, and an interesting walk along the edge when the tide is out.

On the map – see that narrow strip centre right, between the pond and the ocean?

There were a lot of ducks out on the pond, and at least six or seven egrets doing their walk along the edges, and one great white heron too. [There are usually more herons over at the far side of the pond] My camera – just the phone – can’t get them, but maybe if you look closely…

There was some trash, but not too much – maybe I will come out here on Saturday which is beach clean-up day, when we all choose somewhere to go and pick up and record the litter on the beaches.
